What is the AltiusExtra program?
Health insurance simply can't cover everything, it would be too expensive. AltiusExtra saves members money on items that insurance doesn't cover through discounts with contracted providers. It is important to understand that AltiusExtra isn't insurance; it simply arranges better pricing for members who pay the contracted provider directly.
Is There an Additional Charge for the Program?
No, all covered members have access to the AltiusExtra program at no additional charge.
How do I Identify Myself to Receive Discounts?
Simply identify yourself by showing merchants and providers your Altius Health Plans Member identification card. Some services allow members to shop via telephone or on-line. When shopping on-line, the AltiusExtra web site links you directly to our provider's web sites so there is no need to enter your member number.
Are the Discounts Retroactive on Previously Purchased Health Club Memberships?
Occasionally, we'll hear of a Member that has joined a health club and then found out they were eligible for AltiusExtra pricing. In this case, please talk with the health club directly; some clubs will grant the preferred pricing retroactively, others won't.
How are Services Paid For?
As non-covered services, you pay directly for any service you receive. Unless other arrangements are made with the provider, your payment is expected at the time of service.
Are AltiusExtra Discounts and Services Covered Benefits?
No. AltiusExtra goods and services are not covered or paid for by Altius Health Plans. Purchases of goods and services through the AltiusExtra program does not affect the cost of insurance coverage, count towards deductibles, etc. We are simply using our purchasing power to secure favorable terms on goods and services.
What are AltiusExtra Specials?
Besides ongoing discounts, providers who participate in AltiusExtra may offer specials during the year. All specials offer either additional savings or additional services for the same price and sometimes, BOTH! Please check the Current Specials Page for more information.
